So did you manage to place your pets in the right tanks and give them the right prize positions? Read through the answer and see if you got it right!
The piranha is on the end of the row, so it must belong to Marlon or Kirk.
Raquel doesn’t like snails or tarantulas and the piranha is on the end row, so she must have the stick insect.
The snail is next to the stick insect and the tarantula is on the left of the snail, so the piranha must be Marlon’s, the snail Flint’s and the tarantula Kirk’s.
There are two competition places between the stick insect and the snail, so they have to either be first and third, or second and fourth. But we know Marlon’s piranha does better than Raquel’s stick insect; the piranha must have come first, the stick insect second and the snail fourth, which means the tarantula came third.
Which means...
Marlon has the piranha – it wins first prize, of course!
Raquel has the stick insect, which comes second.
Kirk’s tarantula comes third.
Flint’s poor old snail comes fourth.
