Kate Brown shares a flat in Oxford with fellow illustrator Paul Duffield and a large selection of fine teas. Her work has featured in the Mammoth Book of Best New Manga and she has recently completed a Manga version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Kate says she likes happy stories with sad endings. And is very fond of the colour blue – which explains the colour of Bekka’s hair! If Kate was shipwrecked on a desert island she’d like to discover a colony of tiny elephants who would worship her as their new leader. And if she could be rescued by anyone it’d be Prince Valiant.
